Purpose-built for patient care
ASCEND EYE CLINIC
Ascend Eye Clinic was established with a clear focus on providing specialist eye care in a more personal and attentive setting. Led by Dr Errol Chan, Medical Director and Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, our team provides detailed assessments across a wide range of medical and surgical eye conditions. Dr Chan has performed more than 10,000 procedures and brings broad clinical and surgical experience to each patient’s care.
From your first consultation through treatment and follow-up, we take the time to understand your concerns, review your medical history and assess your individual eye care needs. Our team will explain your examination findings, diagnosis and treatment recommendations clearly, ensuring that you understand your condition and the options available. We encourage open communication and welcome any questions you have, while providing consistent guidance, coordination and support throughout your treatment journey.
We provide comprehensive specialist eye care, addressing a wide range of conditions affecting different parts of the eye. Our approach focuses on understanding not only the condition causing your symptoms, but also how it relates to your overall eye health and visual function. Through detailed clinical examinations and diagnostic imaging, we identify underlying abnormalities, assess the extent of disease and determine the most appropriate course of treatment.
Many eye conditions are interconnected, and it is not uncommon for patients to have several conditions affecting their vision at the same time. For example, cataracts, glaucoma and retinal diseases often coexist, with each condition influencing the assessment and management of the others. We take these factors into account when recommending treatment, ensuring that decisions are based on the complete clinical picture rather than addressing each condition in isolation.
Our medical and surgical management is guided by the diagnosis, severity and progression of disease, as well as the patient’s visual needs and examination findings. We also place importance on ongoing monitoring and follow-up, allowing us to evaluate treatment response, identify changes in eye health and adjust management accordingly.
Our clinic is equipped with a comprehensive range of ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic systems that allow us to examine different structures of the eye in detail and assess changes that are not always apparent during a routine clinical examination. Depending on the condition being investigated, assessments include optical coherence tomography, ultra-widefield retinal imaging, fluorescein angiography, visual field testing, corneal imaging and ocular biometry. Each investigation serves a specific purpose, providing detailed information about the structure and function of the eye to support accurate diagnosis and clinical decision-making.
These investigations also play an important role in the ongoing management of eye conditions. By comparing findings across successive visits, we track changes in eye health, identify signs of disease progression and evaluate the response to treatment. This allows us to make informed decisions regarding further investigations, treatment and follow-up, with each assessment tailored to the patient’s clinical needs.
We take the time to understand each patient’s eye and vision concerns, medical history and individual needs. During your consultation, we carefully review your symptoms, explain the examination findings and discuss your diagnosis in a clear and practical manner. We believe that patients should have a good understanding of their eye health, the treatment options recommended and what to expect throughout their care.
Our clinical team coordinates appointments, diagnostic investigations, treatment and follow-up visits to ensure a smooth and organised experience. Where treatment is required, we will explain the recommendations, discuss the relevant benefits and risks, and develop a management plan suited to your clinical needs. We also place importance on continuity of care, monitoring your progress and providing guidance throughout your treatment and recovery.
We understand that navigating insurance coverage and the financial aspects of eye treatment can be complex. Our team will guide you through the process, helping you understand your insurance benefits, estimated treatment costs and the necessary administrative arrangements before proceeding with treatment.
We will assist with insurance enquiries, letters of guarantee, medical reports and claims documentation where applicable. For patients requiring surgery, we will also discuss the appropriate surgical facility and available arrangements, taking into consideration your insurance coverage and potential out-of-pocket expenses. Our aim is to help you make informed financial decisions, minimise unnecessary costs where possible and proceed with treatment with greater peace of mind.
We work with a range of insurance providers and assist patients with the necessary documentation and arrangements for their treatment. Coverage and claim eligibility are subject to individual policy terms, benefits and insurer approval.
